The Armenian names of fruits, vegetables, herbs etc.

ike any other civilised nation, Armenians have their own words for nature's fruits and produce. Unfortunately most Armenians in the diaspora have been strongly influenced by their host countries and unknowingly have adopted the foreign names of many every day items.

The purpose of this section of Hye Etch is to reintroduce everyone out there to the true Armenian names of various every day items and help people utilise and enrich their Armenian vocabulary.

The following are the Armenian names of fruits, vegetables, greens, herbs, spices, grains, pods, seeds and nuts. The list is divided into three sections. The "English" name of the item, the "Armenian" pronunciation in English and the "Armenian" name in Armenian.

Note: This Page is both in English and Armenian. To find out how to be able to see the Armenian letters and download a free Armenian font, please click "Here".
