Proverbs

s the saying goes "Proverbs are the salt of speech".  Just as salt spices up food and makes it more palatable, so do proverbs, which give speech that extra special flavour full of wisdom and advice. Passed on from generation to generation and inspired by experience and trial.

The proverbs on this page have been divided into separate categories based on their country of origin. They all have been translated into Armenian. As you read through the different categories, you will notice similarities in some of the proverbs even though their country of origin is thousands of miles apart. Most proverbs are self explanatory, but few will challenge your wits and stimulate your brain cells.

Note: This page is both in English and Armenian. To find out how to be able to see the Armenian letters and download a free Armenian font, please click "Here".

. If anyone out there has more proverbs to add to the above list (both English or Armenian) or is up to the challenge of translating the existing proverbs into English, I would like to hear from you - Hye Etch.
