La Légion d’Orient - Citation (French) Le Général Dufieu, Commandant La Première Division du Levant, cite à l’Ordre de la Division. Le Sergeant Chahnazarian Sempad, de la Première Compagnie, du Quatrième Batallon, d’elite, très intelligent, très devoué. Pendant les affaires d’El-Oghlou, il a été remarqué par son élan et sa tenacité au feu. Dans toutes les operations de Marash, il a accomplie de plusieurs “Coups de Main” auxquels il était toujours volontaire. Entrainant d’Hommes Remarquables, il a emmené au bout toutes les missions qu’à lui etaient confiés, et provoque l’admiration du Commandement. Signé
The Légion of the East - Citation (English) Général Dufieu, Commander of the First Division of the Levant, mentions in the general orders of the Division: Sergeant Shahnazarian Sempad, of the First Company, of the Fourth Battalion, as an elite member, very intelligent, and very devout. During the Action of El-Oghlou, he is to be commended for his spirit and for his tenacity under fire. In all the
operations of Marash, he voluntarily initiated several surprise attacks.
